Why is afro samurai hair green

He questioned his Master on the matter and met him beneath a bodhi tree for a duel, but the duel was disrupted by the arrival of the students and a huge mob of thugs and crooks seeking the Number 2 headband. In the ensuing battle, Sword Master sought to show Afro the terrible price of being the Number 2, but in the end he is killed by Afro, who has flashbacks to the scene of his fathers death, which angers him enough to do the deed.

Afro begins his journey to take vengeance on Justice and makes his way to Mt. Shumi by way of Low Down East whilst having to deal with those seeking the Number 2 headband including large numbers of thugs, The Empty Seven and their assassins, hired or otherwise built, such as the Afro Droid and Machine Ninja, as well as his childhood friend Jinno, who had been turned into the Cyborg Kuma. Afro at last meets Justice at the end of season 1 where he engages him in a duel. He slices off both of his arms, and narrowly avoids a hidden third arm before removing it and a piece of his chin, mostly decapitating Justice.

After a moment, Justice begins talking again and stands up, then rights his head and attempts to impale Afro through the head with a spike manifested from the floor. Afro fakes dying to lure Justice close and surprises him when he attempts to take the No. He swings down the Spike and slashes Justice down to the waist knocking off his poncho. He then viciously slices him hundreds of times till all that is left is a pile of chopped chunks of Justice and his hat which flies forward.

Afro claims his Headband, becoming the new Number 1. As we see in the end of the episode Justice smiles not being dead. In Afro Samurai: Resurrection , Afro attempts to leave his bloody life of cruelty and brutality behind him, but he is tracked down by Kuma and his sister Sio who took the Number one Headband from Afro and stole the lower half of Rokutaro 's Skeleton's Jawbone after rooting up his casket. Afro begins seeking around for the Number Two Headband to kill Sio for disturbing his Father's grave and stealing the Number one Headband.

After Afro gets a lead, he heads to a city where the Number two lives. He meets the man he is supposed to kill, Shichigoro. Afro fights and kills him now having earned the right, he heads to fight Sio. Along the way he battles and destroys her three henchmen Bin , Michael and Tomoe.

Afro soon finds the newly revived Rokutaro is an ungodly, barbaric force and kicks Afro in the abdomen crushing his ribs; partnered with the unwillingness to fight his own Father the clone quickly crushes Afro's throat and is killed by his false father. After Jinno and Rokutaro's clone fight and Jinno's life support makes contact with the blood spilled by Afro, restarting his Heart.

Afro gets up and raises his sword and hears his Father telling him to kill his Clone. Afro complies and tells the Clone that although he may look like his Father his real Father died a long time ago he then rushes forward and kills his Father's monstrous clone. Afterwards Afro starts heading to Mt. After racing and defeating almost an endless barrage of Afro Droids he had reached the top and stabbed what he had thought to be Justice only to find out that he was dead a long time ago as he dissipates into dust, Afro is shocked and Ninja Ninja then states that he had become god.

Kotaro then arrives after Ninja Ninja leaves Afro alone, he then bows down prepared to meet his death when his body instinctively dodged Kotaro 's Attack and slicing his head off to which he screams in anger and pain. Outside waits Ninja Ninja and Takimoto asking him what his plans are as god to which he replies.

It all rings true to the character. The serious expression on his face is a bit unlike the character, but from his stance, it looks like he just gave Afro a pep talk or just slapped some sense into him.

Likely the latter as he wasn't one to be touchy-feely nor all that motivational. This image shows two of the most important characters from the original anime and the primary antagonist of Afro Samurai Resurrection.

Three of them standing together adds a nice dynamic when you understand the history of all three. Lady Sio, being in the middle is apt as she plays her brother Jinno against Afro during the movie, using him as a means of retrieving the headband and DNA of Afro's dad. She's a snake who only knows of revenge, the major theme of the entire series.

Lady Sio only showed up in the movie but managed to leave her mark as a true femme fatale of the series, more so than Otsuru ever was. In many ways she's just an angrier version of the same character, one bent on gaining revenge on Afro for something that was never truly his fault. Blacklashjo manages to capture that essence, nothing other than pure venom being shown in her eyes.

There is no question that she would use that blade to slice Afro's throat open like a fish if she had the chance. It's a hard emotion to produce, but she more than managed it. Speaking of dead-eyed gazes, take a look at SilentCiel's rendition of the character. She looks like she's as cold-blooded as they come, no longer feeling anything. You can practically see the venom running through her veins as she thinks of any possible way to put an end to Afro's life. We get a better look at her cosplay as well, showing why Lady Sio was such a femme fatale.

She allows plenty of skin to be revealed, fact that the cosplayer doesn't shy away from. Nice little touch is the pink nail polish, color matching that of her skirt well.

There's a lot of hard characters out there to cosplay, but Kuma is near the top. From the oversized teddy bear head to the cybernetics, he's a nightmare to prepare for.

Somehow, SketchMcdraw found a way to do it though. More so then that, he did it extremely well. The biggest flaw with most Kuma cosplay is that the head looks cheap, eyes often looking googly and otherwise lackluster.

That's not the case here as Kuma looks intimidating, wear and tear on the head showing how hard he's had to fight for those headbands draped around his arms. As does the missing eye. Ninja Ninja sometimes helps him and sometimes annoys him.

At the beginning of Episode 5, it is revealed that Ninja Ninja was the one that was "killed" by Kuma's strike; a symbolic way of showing that Afro has come to terms with the loss of his friends at this point in his journey. Also about halfway through the episode when Afro finally meets Justice again, Justice states that he watched him shed his imaginary friend Ninja. Ninja Ninja reappears asking Afro "if it will ever end? Ninja Ninja shouts to Afro as he walks away but does not seem to follow him.

Ninja Ninja also appears in the Afro Samurai official video game. Ninja Ninja will sometimes be squatting down, waiting for the player to approach him. If this happens, Ninja Ninja will induce a cruel game called "Body Part Poker" meaning Afro 's slicing off specific body parts of his enemies resulting in Ninja Ninja flipping over cards.

There are three cards, all the player has to do is cut off three body parts complementing each other before the cigarette in Ninja Ninja's hand burns out. Ninja Ninja also has his own part in the storyline entitled "Ninja Ninja's Story" which takes place after Afro is swarmed and overcome by androids. Ninja Ninja elaborates that all of his so called friends are dead and that he can't face Justice without any regrets, so to test and prove if he's ready he suggests Afro has to kill him to see if he's ready.

After the battle, Ninja Ninja says that he's been holding on to Afro 's Emotions and he asks if Afro is ready for this hard burden. He then says it was fun hanging with Afro and bids him a final farewell as his cards block the screen for a second and he disappears.

In the anime, Ninja Ninja has no fighting skills but he does notice weaknesses in opponents and points them out to Afro. He also encourages Afro on to greater deeds and is a very good climber. He may also be un-killable as he is Imaginary or a Force of Nature who appears when Afro suffers great stress and loss such as at the Battle of the Bodhi Tree and After Sio disturbs Rokutaro's grave.

In the Afro Samurai video game , he can disappear and reappear in any place to signal Afro on where to go, in "Ninja Ninja's Story" Ninja Ninja has a sword in order to fight Afro , he appears to have skills like jumping over a horizontal sword swing, and cloning himself to overpower Afro. In the manga, he implies that he is more than capable of killing Afro if he wanted to, which is further reinforced when Afro seriously attacks with a horizontal sword swing, only for Ninja Ninja to easily dodge his slash and appear behind him with a kunai pressed to his throat.
