In fact, this is one of my easiest recipes, which is why I love it so much. The detailed instructions are listed in the recipe card below. Here are the basic steps:. Toss the wings in melted butter or even just liberally spray them with oil and sprinkle them with spices.

This is actually my favorite way to make them. I simply start cooking two hours before dinnertime. I used to think you needed to flour them to get them crispy. But there's actually no need for flour. The skin will crisp up beautifully in the hot oven.

And keeping them in the oven on the "warm" setting after they're done will crisp them up even more. So I highly recommend this extra step. I now love this recipe and make it often, but I actually started making it out of sheer laziness. I really dislike deep frying and much prefer baking. I also prefer to avoid breading, keeping the wings not just gluten-free but also keto and low-carb. So I decided to simply season them, then bake them in a hot oven. They came out of the oven crispy, juicy, and absolutely delicious.

If you serve these wings as an entree, rather than an appetizer, you can serve them with lots of yummy side dishes!

A few of my favorites include:. You can dip them in buffalo sauce to make tasty buffalo wings , but it's not really necessary. They are perfect just as they are, straight out of the oven. I love this recipe as is and almost always make it as written. But in case you'd like to vary the basic recipe, here are a few ideas for you:. Leftovers keep well in the fridge, in an airtight container, for days. Place wings in a single layer on prepared rack and bake until glaze is glossy and lightly caramelized, 8—10 minutes.

How would you rate Crispy Baked Chicken Wings? Leave a Review. I made this with chicken wings and neither the sauce or glaze make a lot. I baked the wings and then tossed with the glaze and used the hot sauce as a side dip. It was so hot, one little dab was mouth burning hot. The flavor from the glaze was just fine and all in all pretty simple to make. For the sauce, I used half tabasco green pepper sauce and half Choula hot sauce so don't know if Frank's would have been milder.

The wings were that crispy but I think that's partly because I used 1 tablespoon of oil for a small amount of wings.

Huntington Beach, CA. Real good! Will do again. Colorado Springs, Colorado. I just made those wings the other day and the whole family loved it. It was just perfect, crispy and delicious. Will make it again. I've been double frying wings for years but recently moved to a location where the kitchen is not great.

I actually made this in a toaster oven and they were fantastic. I cooked them a little longer than 50 minutes and used some leftover korean fried chicken sauce for the "non-traditional" wings. Highly recommend. Wings are somewhat forgiving, don't be afraid to "overcook" them. Definitely need to render as much fat out of them as possible. Also, make sure you dry the wings with paper towels before you start. This will help, as well as some all purpose seasoning.

The negative reviews for this recipe are exclusively from idiots. Every oven is different - know yours. Don't understand why the how the buffalo sauce got warm?

Don't know about the racks? They're available at every walmart, Target, and grocery store in the country. Separate the sections, don't separate, who cares?

Not the point and not going to change anything, it's personal preference. Not hot enough?
