What type of roleplayer are you

Remember a piece of story that will help you. What reward do you seek? A reward that ties into my backstory. The prize is the path taken, not the destination. A reward to help you cause more mischief. A weapon or piece of armour that my character wanted. A desired magic item. Something that allows me to solve problems easier.

A story reward like a boon or a favour. You're an Actor. Did you do your vocal warm-ups? You're about to dive deep into your character and role-play the heck out of it! You like being engaged by NPCs and getting the chance to roleplay in combat, while exploring, while sleeping - any time, really!

People are in awe of your role-playing skills and your ability to stay in character. Keep up the great work! You're an Explorer! You're drawn to knowing the details of your surroundings because it makes the area feel more complete and the story more real. Clues are like manna to you, and you enjoy picking them up and putting them together to learn more about the world around you. Other players are drawn to your love the world and your pursuit to explore it. Great work!

You're an Instigator. When the GM describes something that could be utterly wonderful or dangerous, you're right there. Others turn to you for your fearlessness, and your ability to make things happen. Someone has to touch that glowing orb. It may as well be the bravest one at the table.

So what if happens to cause some complications for the group. Struggle makes the game fun! Keep it up, Courageous One! You're a Fighter. There are two things you came to do at this gaming session: chew some bubblegum, and slay some monsters - And you're all out of bubblegum.

Despite your ability to start at fight at the drop of the hat, you enjoy the havoc it creates. Others marvel at your ability to understand combat mechanics and appreciate the help you provide.

Keep up the good work, Fighter! Take this simple quiz to find out! I must keep typing to make this longer! Are you a literate role player or do you have some work to do? Have you ever enjoyed writing a story. Alright have you ever wondered what your level of literacy? Remember to rate this quiz on the next page! Tired of missing 20 times in a row or dying in a ridiculously unopportune moment thanks to rolling a 1?

Thanks for the topic Aik, been a while I enjoyed a test this much. Too bad the form requires rather much reading and making your own notes, as it seems to throw people off a bit. Foradasthar , Aug 6, Found this an interesting test. Regarding the luck scores: Luck does play a part in RL but ability is more important. If I have a really good character or party I think their ability should count the most. If poor then maybe an occasional lucky role but it should be rare.

That's my opinion. Nakia , Aug 6, I quite like fortune actually, but so long as it gets combined with a good deal of dramatism Systems like The Pool and Shadows. Fortune can enhance the narrativism with unexpected things happening. I find karma to be boring. It doesn't leave things open for interesting situations. Aikanaro , Aug 7, Jaguar , Aug 7, Gamism 9 Narrativism 16 Simulationism 15 Drama 11 Fortune 12 Karma 11 The story is key, but it doesn't justify careless rule breaking.

The rules are important to maintain in order to achieve an honest outcome, but sometimes they make no sense, especially when they favour political correctness over realism.

Simulation must prevail there. However, that something is not really probable doesn't yet make it totally impossible. Therefore, there's always a place for a lucky dice roll.

Drama is a nice thing, but it shouldn't take precedence over realism and it must serve an organised storyline - unless the storyline is improvised and drama-driven, but that's a different point. Karma doesn't really have that much of appeal. Granted, almost nothing you do is altogether inconcsequential, but you don't need karma for that.

Logic is enough. Logic and a healthy sense of realism. Things happen.
